N2  - Diese Arbeit stellt die Entwicklung der Euthanasiedebatte in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland dar. Ausgangspunkt ist die historische Aufarbeitung des Euthanasiebegriffes. Dieser unterlag in seiner Bedeutung seit seinem Ursprung einer starken Veränderung. Die Arbeit stellt grundsätzliche Überlegungen an, um die häufig emotional geführten Diskussion zu versachlichen. Dazu zieht sie neben den ethischen auch medizinsche und juristische Aspekte zur Diskussion heran. Ergänzend werden aktuelle Fälle und deren Implikationen aus den USA, der Schweiz und den Niederlanden mit einbezogen.
N2  - This work shows the discussion of the euthanasia debate in the Federal Republic of Germany. Starting point is the historical evolution of the term euthanasia. There was a shift of meaning since his origin. The foundamental reflections should help to depersonalize the often emotionally controlled discussion. The approache comprises beside ethical also medical and juridical aspects. In addition are included topical cases and their implications from USA, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
