N2  - In der retrospektiven Studie wurde der langfristige Erfolg von 60 Teleskoparbeiten untersucht, die vollständig an der Universität Würzburg angefertigt wurden. Die Auswertung aus den Karteikarten ergab, dass die häufigsten Probleme Druckstellen, Unterfütterungen, Blutungen der Gingiva an der Primärkrone, abgeplatzte Verblendungen und das Lösen der Primärteleskopkronen darstellten. Aus der parallel dazu durchgeführten Untersuchung am Patienten resultierten folgende Probleme: Verlust der Friktion, Blutung der Gingiva und Plaque an der Prothese. Als Schlussfolgerung sind Teleskopprothesen bei einem stark reduzierten Restgebiß gut einsetzbar. Allerdings ist die Herstellung Aufwändig und sie sind relativ wartungsintensiv und teuer. Die Patienten müssen nachdrücklich auf die Wichtigkeit einer intensiven Mundhygiene und regelmäßige Nachkontrolle hingewiesen werden.
N2  - The retrospective study tested the long-term succeess of 60 double crowns, which were entirely produced at the University of Wuerzburg. The results documented in the patient’s files showed that the most common problems were sore spots, relining, bleeding of the gingiva surrounding the primary crowns, chipped facings of the bonded composite and loose primary crown. The study carried out on the patient showed the following problems: loss of friction, bleeding of the gingiva and plaque on the denture. As a conclusion double crowns in a severly reduced rest dentition are very well advised. However, production is very complex, maintenance very intensive and costs relatively high. It is necessary to reinforce the importance of a good oral hygiene to the patient and regular recalls must be carried out.
