  abstract  = {Children with anal atresia are born with a blind end rectum and without a developed anus. Therefore surgery is the only possible treatment. Postoperative complications may include constipation and/or incontinence, even if surgery went well. This may reduce quality of life. The aim of this paper is to investigate and illustrate post-operative quality of life. Even when good quality of life is indicated, many patients nevertheless suffer from anxiety. We suggest an improved psychological counselling for these patients. This paper not only illustrates options to investigate quality of life but also suggests options to improve quality of life.},
