Since then, almost ninety informed studies which show an ongoing academic interest in the book have been published. Many of these studies attempted to explain the apparently failing analogy between Hitler and Engelhardt that the novel claimed in an irritating manner. Nevertheless, none of them took an esoteric approach which Kracht himself suggested in an interview with Denis Scheck as a starting point for their analyses, although esoteric references seem to be an ignored constant in Kracht's oeuvre since Tristesse Royale. Hence, by tracing this esoteric intertextuality in the whole of Kracht's oeuvre and linking it to the references which Kracht makes to right-wing ideologies since Faserland, it will be shown that there actually does exist an analogy between Hitler and Engelhardt in Imperium which aims to deconstruct Hitler mythemes by ridiculizing Engelhardt. Furthermore, it will be demonstrated that the interrelations between Kracht's texts create a rhizomatic network of intertextuality that dissolves the boarders between external references and self-references.}, language = {de} } @article{MuellerTornau2018, author = {M{\"u}ller, Christof and Tornau, Christian}, title = {„Unfreundlichkeit und Polemik im Briefkorpus Augustins"}, series = {Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Antikes Christentum}, volume = {22}, journal = {Zeitschrift f{\"u}r Antikes Christentum}, number = {1}, issn = {1612-961X}, doi = {10.1515/zac-2018-0011}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:20-opus-198437}, pages = {1 -- 4}, year = {2018}, abstract = {Kein Abstract verf{\"u}gbar.}, language = {de} } @article{Schmidt2016, author = {Schmidt, Rainer F.}, title = {„Revanche pour Sedan" - Frankreich und der Schlieffenplan. The quantitative content analysis highlights how China reacted to increasing international (mostly United States) pressure regarding its Xinjiang policies by producing higher volumes of videos and putting out new counternarratives. The qualitative analysis that follows provides in-depth treatment of the most important discourses that Chinese media engage in to salvage the nation's international image, namely those on development, culture, nature, and terrorism. It finds several ways of countering criticism, ranging from presenting a positive image of China, in line with traditional propaganda guidelines and President Xi Jinping's assignment to state media to "tell the China story well," to more innovative approaches. Thus the development narrative becomes more personalized, the discourse on culture supports the "heritagization process" to incorporate minority cultures into a harmonized "Chinese civilization," representations of nature firmly tie Xinjiang into the discourse of "beautiful China," the "terror narrative" strategically employs shocking footage in an attempt to gain international "discourse power," etc. The article provides an up-to-date picture of China's state media strategy on a highly contentious international issue.}, language = {en} } @article{CarolusWienrich2022, author = {Carolus, Astrid and Wienrich, Carolin}, title = {"Imagine this smart speaker to have a body": An analysis of the external appearances and the characteristics that people associate with voice assistants}, series = {Frontiers in Computer Science}, volume = {4}, journal = {Frontiers in Computer Science}, issn = {2624-9898}, doi = {10.3389/fcomp.2022.981435}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:20-opus-297175}, year = {2022}, abstract = {Introduction Modern digital devices, such as conversational agents, simulate human-human interactions to an increasing extent. Consequently, scant attention has been given to the caregiving experiences of direct care workers (DCWs) in Chinese nursing homes. In particular, given the relational nature of care work, there is little knowledge as to how Chinese DCWs manage emotions and inner feelings through their emotional labor. This article examines the emotional labor of Chinese DCWs through ethnographic data collected with 20 DCWs in one nursing home located in an urban setting in central China. Data were analyzed using conventional content analysis and constant comparison. Participants' accounts of sustaining a caring self, preserving professional identity, and hoping for reciprocity revealed implicit meanings about the often-conflicting nature of emotional labor and the nonreciprocal elements of care work under constrained working conditions. We sought to record the acquisition of antibiotic-resistant Escherichia coli (E. coli) in healthy infants in Northern Thailand and investigated potential determinants. Methods Stool samples from 142 infants after birth, at ages 2wk, 2mo, 4 to 6mo, and 1y, and parent stool samples were screened for E. coli resistance to tetracycline, ampicillin, co-trimoxazole, and cefazoline by culture, and isolates were further investigated for multiresistance by disc diffusion method. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis was performed to identify persistent and transmitted strains. Genetic comparison of resistant and transmitted strains was done by multilocus sequence typing (MLST) and strains were further investigated for extra- and intra-intestinal virulence factors by multiplex PCR. Results Forty-seven (33\%) neonatal meconium samples contained resistant E. coli. Prevalence increased continuously: After 1y, resistance proportion (tetracycline 80\%, ampicillin 72\%, co-trimoxazole 66\%, cefazoline 35\%) almost matched those in parents. In 8 infants (6\%), identical E. coli strains were found in at least 3 sampling time points (suggesting persistence). Transmission of resistant E. coli from parents to child was observed in only 8 families. MLST showed high diversity. We could not identify any virulence genes or factors associated with persistence, or transmission of resistant E. coli. Full-term, vaginal birth and birth in rural hospital were identified as risk factors for early childhood colonization with resistant E. coli. Conclusion One third of healthy Thai neonates harboured antibiotic-resistant E. coli in meconium. Obesity is associated with impaired NP/GC-A/cGMP signaling, which possibly contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes and its cardiometabolic complications. In vitro, synthetic ANP, via GC-A, stimulates glucose-dependent insulin release from cultured pancreatic islets and β-cell proliferation. However, the relevance for systemic glucose homeostasis in vivo is not known. To dissect whether the endogenous cardiac hormones modulate the secretory function and/or proliferation of β-cells under (patho)physiological conditions in vivo, here we generated a novel genetic mouse model with selective disruption of the GC-A receptor in β-cells. Methods: Mice with a floxed GC-A gene were bred to Rip-CreTG mice, thereby deleting GC-A selectively in β-cells (β GC-A KO). Weight gain, glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, and glucose-stimulated insulin secretion were monitored in normal diet (ND)- and high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice. β-cell size and number were measured by immunofluorescence-based islet morphometry. Results: In vitro, the insulinotropic and proliferative actions of ANP were abolished in islets isolated from β GC-A KO mice. Concordantly, in vivo, infusion of BNP mildly enhanced baseline plasma insulin levels and glucose-induced insulin secretion in control mice. This effect of exogenous BNP was abolished in β GC-A KO mice, corroborating the efficient inactivation of the GC-A receptor in β-cells. Despite this under physiological, ND conditions, fasted and fed insulin levels, glucose-induced insulin secretion, glucose tolerance and β-cell morphology were similar in β GC-A KO mice and control littermates. However, HFD-fed β GC-A KO animals had accelerated glucose intolerance and diminished adaptative β-cell proliferation. Conclusions: Our studies of β GC-A KO mice demonstrate that the cardiac hormones ANP and BNP do not modulate β-cell's growth and secretory functions under physiological, normal dietary conditions. However, endogenous NP/GC-A signaling improves the initial adaptative response of β-cells to HFD-induced obesity. The α-emitter \(^{223}\)Ra creates DNA damage tracks along α-particle trajectories (α-tracks) in exposed cells that can be revealed by immunofluorescent staining of γ-H2AX+53BP1 DNA double-strand break markers. We investigated the time- and absorbed dose-dependency of the number of α-tracks in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of patients undergoing their first therapy with [\(^{223}\)Ra]RaCl\(_{2}\). Methods Multiple blood samples from nine prostate cancer patients were collected before and after administration of [\(^{223}\)Ra]RaCl\(_{2}\), up to 4 weeks after treatment. γ-H2AX- and 53BP1-positive α-tracks were microscopically quantified in isolated and immuno-stained PBMCs. Results The absorbed doses to the blood were less than 6 mGy up to 4 h after administration and maximally 16 mGy in total. Up to 4 h after administration, the α-track frequency was significantly increased relative to baseline and correlated with the absorbed dose to the blood in the dose range < 3 mGy. In most of the late samples (24 h - 4 weeks after administration), the α-track frequency remained elevated. Conclusion The γ-H2AX+53BP1 assay is a potent method for detection of α-particle-induced DNA damages during treatment with or after accidental incorporation of radionuclides even at low absorbed doses. The tree species occurs mostly admixed in mountain forests with Fagus and Picea rather than forming distinctive communities of its own. Climatically, Abies is widely distributed to the upper limit of the montane belt, but occurs only sparsely in subalpine forest. Analysis of Ellenberg indicator values based on total species composition yielded the following results: As a tolerant species Abies regeneration has a marked preference for shady forest, which in turn Abies tree layers themselves help create. It also has a clear preference for acidic topsoil conditions. Sites with low N-supply, such as early successional stages on raw carbonate soils, are rarely colonised by Abies. Also, dry and markedly wet forest sites in the region are avoided by Abies. Permutation-based indicator species analysis found a large number of common forest species as being significantly associated with Abies and its frequent companion Fagus sylvatica, whereas there is a negative relationship with more specialised Seslerion and Erico-Pinion species. As Abies alba has very few specific companion species not shared with either Fagus or Picea, the delimitation of Abietetum-syntaxa appears mostly motivated by ecological rather than phytosociological considerations. As a result of its susceptibility towards game browsing, Abies regeneration is an indicator of high woody species richness. The study broadly confirms Abies alba's status as a climax species intermediate between Fagus and Picea, and demonstrates the potential of large phytosociological databanks for niche modelling.}, subject = {Weißtanne}, language = {de} } @article{Henk2022, author = {Henk, Lars Thorben}, title = {{\´E}douard Louis' «J'accuse». The language acquisition process undergoes similar stages in the same time span, independently of the specific language. Non-native acquisition differs from L1 acquisition, as the speaker already has an internal grammar with all parameters set. Transfer should therefore take place, bringing the learner to analyse the new input according to the properties of the L1, but a reanalysis is possible because of the availability of UG (Schwartz/Sprouse 1996). This article explores a syntactic domain, namely the properties of the functional categories constraining the verb position in main and subordinate clauses, by means of empirical data from Italian L1-speakers acquiring German as a second language (L2). It will be shown that the interlanguage grammars reflect properties of L1 and that resetting can be achieved, although optionality still exists and full convergence to the target language cannot be guaranteed.}, language = {de} } @article{Weinreich2021, author = {Weinreich, Oliver}, title = {Zwei lange vergessene Kilianslieder aus zwei Epochen: "Adoranda veneranda" und "Sankt Kilian ein edler Schott"}, series = {W{\"u}rzburger Di{\"o}zesangeschichtsbl{\"a}tter}, volume = {84}, journal = {W{\"u}rzburger Di{\"o}zesangeschichtsbl{\"a}tter}, issn = {0342-3093}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:bvb:20-opus-303766}, pages = {237-248}, year = {2021}, abstract = {Es werden zwei Kirchenlieder zum W{\"u}rzburger Bistumspatron Kilian vorgestellt: eines aus dem 12. und eines aus dem 17.
