  abstract  = {Cutaneous leishmaniasis is initiated by the bite of an infected sandfly and inoculation of Leishmania major parasites into the mammalian skin. Macrophages are known to playa central role in the course of infection because they are the prime host cells and funetion as antigen-presenting eells (APC) for induetion of the eell-mediated immune response. However, in addition to maerophages in the dermis. the skin eontains epidermal Langerhans eells (LC) which ean present antigen (Ag) to T cells. Therefore, using a murine model of cutaneous leishmaniasis, we analyzed the ability of epidermal cells to induce a T eell response to L.major. The results demonstrated that freshly isolated LC, but not cuItured LC, are highly active in presenting L.major Ag in vitro to T cells from primed mice and to a L.major-specific T cell clone. Furthermore, freshly isolated LC had the ability to retain L.major Ag in immunogenic form for at least 2 days. Their efficiency was much greater than that of irradiated spleen cells, a standard population of APC. LC stimulated both T cell proliferation and production of the Iymphokines interleukin (IL)-2 and IL-4. The response was Ag specific and could be induced by lysate of L. major parasites and by live organisms. The data suggest that epidermal LC are important APC in eutaneous leishmaniasis. They may perform a critical funetion by eapturing L.major Ag in the skin and presenting it either to quiescent T eells circulating through the draining lymph node or locally to T effector cells infiltrating the cutaneous lesion.},

  abstract  = {This article deals with the reception of Dante and Goethe in Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari's and Hector Berlioz's compositions La Vita Nuova and La Damnation de Faust. Although Dante Alighieri's Vita Nova and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust belong to completely different genres and epochs, the texts provide the basis for the oratorio-style works from the Romantic era, which justifies a comparative analysis of the latter. The examined reductions, extensions, modifications and rearrangements of the texts in the libretti - which were compiled almost entirely by the composers themselves - as well as the instrumental parts and the use and functions of the orchestra, the choir and the soloists, portray the intermedia relations between literature and music in the selected compositions. The chosen examples will show that the common idea of setting literature to music and the translation studies concept of intersemiotic translation are not appropriate for all literature-based pieces of music, as the analysis of both works demonstrates that with regard to vocal music a distinction should be made between the musicalization of literature and the literarization of music.},

  abstract  = {While French Enlightenment seems philosophically dominated by a pejorative idea of the medieval past as the 'Dark Ages', this is only one conception among others. This article focuses on a different, a positive, representation of the Middle Ages in eighteenth-century literature, analyzing the chivalric novella Bliomb{\´e}ris (1784) by Jean-Pierre Claris de Florian. On the one hand, the eponymous hero is considered a 'noble savage' who develops into an ideal knight by education and successful learning - two central ideas of the Enlightenment period. On the other hand, the study shows how the medieval topic of the Mati{\`e}re de Bretagne, exclusively required by English literature for a long time, is finally regained by the French and is reintegrated into their national memory.},

  abstract  = {This article exemplifies Gunter Grimm's concept of productive reception by analyzing C{\´e}sar Fern{\´a}ndez Garc{\´i}a's young adult novel La {\´u}ltima bruja de Trasmoz (2009) and the episode Tiempo de hechizos (2017) of the TV series El ministerio del tiempo as two modern works which artistically and creatively deal with Gustavo Adolfo B{\´e}cquer's Cartas desde mi celda (1864). The study is based on the core assumption that the choice of genre greatly influences the treatment of motives such as the perception of nature and the idea of dreams, as well as the image of the witch. While B{\´e}cquer's letters, which focus on the rural people's superstition, present the witch of Aragonese folklore, the modern examples portray two of her fantastic counterparts: the novel depicts its magical protagonist as an evil supernatural being, whereas the TV episode of the science fiction series shows the witch as a time traveller and a victim.},

  abstract  = {We are witnessing a return of the real which philosophy seems illequipped to handle. I argue (1) that this return of the real must be read as a rejection of those philosophical tendencies which were prevalent in the past decades and which I call philosophies of mediation: They supplanted all references to something real by the sole reference to those processes in which reality was supposed to be given or shaped (in interpretations, linguistic structures, historical or social conditions, media…). The current urgency of the question of the real indicates that those philosophies have lost credibility. On the other hand (2), the contemporary attempts to resuscitate philosophical realism cannot be considered satisfactory either. It is curiously the real itself they fail to fully appreciate. All in all (3), the return of the real has to be interpreted as the effect of an event that has little to do with philosophy, namely the return of politics.},

  abstract  = {Acetyldimethylphenylsilane (2) reacts with TBAF · 3H\(_2\)O in THF and with KF in DMSO/H\(_2\)0, respectively, to give [(CH\(_3\) )\(_2\)SiO]\(_x\) and 1-Phenylethanol (3) which can be isolated with a nearly quantitative yield. The way 2 reacts with F\(^-\) contrasts with that of some aroyl- and heteroaroyltrimethylsilanes, described in the literature. A reaction mechanism is discussed which involves among others a 1 ,2-phenyl shift and a Brook rearrangement.},
