T1  - Evaluation of a telepathology project between the Pathological Institute of the University in Würzburg and a missionary hospital of the Benedictines in the southwest of Tanzania
N2  - Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, die telepathologische Zusammenarbeit mit einem Krankenhaus eines medizinisch unterentwickelten Landes zu überprüfen und zu bewerten. Für die Untersuchungen wurden die Daten von 545 Patienten aus Peramiho/Tansania übermittelten Fälle analysiert. Dabei wurden die telepathologisch erstellten Diagnosen anhand der nachträglich nach Würzburg übersandten Paraffinblöckchen der Gewebeproben und dort erfolgten Nachbegutachtung nach deutschen Standards überprüft. Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass der Einsatz telepathologischer Techniken für die Unterstützung unterentwickelter Länder geeignet ist und die Qualität der medizinischen Versorgung langfristig verbessert.
N2  - The aim of this study was to examine the telepathology collaboration with a hospital in a medically under-developed country and to evaluate. For the examination, the data of 545 patients transmitted from Peramiho/ Tanzania were analyzed. The tele-pathologicaly established diagnoses were verified on the basis of subsequently sent to Würzburg paraffin blocks of tissue samples. Therefore follow-up reviews were made in accordance with German standards. The results showed that the use of tele-pathologic techniques for the support of underdeveloped countries is appropriate and improves the quality of medical care in the long term.
