N2  - The nothotaxa of the genus Sedum series Rupestria Berger (Crassulaceae) are reviewed, three new hybrids (S. ×affomarcoi, S. ×henkii and S. ×pascalianum) are described and Sedum brevierei Chass. is typified. The identity of the western (French) populations of S. rupestre L. subsp. erectum ‘t Hart is also clarified, and a table with all known combinations is given.

N2  - 181 names of Hieracium species going back to original herbarium material of Alexis Jordan or Alexandre Boreau are lectotypified, 27 are neotypified. The study is based on herbarium specimens of the Université Catholique de Lyon (LY) and Ville d’Angers (ANG), Martrin-Donos’s herbarium at the Institut Botanique de Montpellier (MPUTarn) and Arvet-Touvet’s herbarium at the Musée d’Histoire Naturelle de Grenoble (GRM-AT). The type specimens are illustrated by photographs of the entire herbarium sheets with some detail views of flower heads and leaves. Usual nomenclatural synonyms are given for each taxon.

N2  - Ernst Koch (1843-1926), Gymnasiallehrer in Meiningen (Südthüringen), hat sich neben seinen Forschungen zu Geschichte und Landeskunde des Herzogtums Meiningen in den Jahren zwischen 1895 und 1906 auch intensiv mit der Flora von Südthüringen und angrenzender Gebiete Unterfrankens beschäftigt. Seine floristischen Aktivitäten werden dargestellt und seine Beziehungen zum Thüringischen Botanischen Verein anhand des noch erhaltenen Briefwechsels beschrieben.
N2  - Ernst Koch (1843-1926) was teacher at a gymnasium (high school) in Meiningen (Southern Thuringia). Beside his studies on history and applied geography of the Duchy of Meiningen he investigated the flora of Southern Thuringia and adjacent northern areas of Lower Franconia between 1895 and 1906. The present report deals with his botanical activities and his critical relations to the Botanical Society of Thuringia documented by exchanged letters.
