The method combines the capabilities of adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) and large-eddy simulations (LES) to capture localized features and to represent unresolved turbulence, respectively; it will be referred to as Fluid mEchanics with Adaptively Refined Large-Eddy SimulationS or FEARLESS.
