- This study investigates the question if there is a significant difference in the analysis of healthy cerebral tissue and pathological, intracranial lesions with singlevoxel- versus multivoxel-MR-proton-spectroscopy. We tested cerebral tumors of grade 2 to 4 (WHO), metastases and focal-inflammatory lesions. In conclusion the best differentiation between normal and pathologically changed tissue was made with the singlevoxel-method and the CHO/CRE-ratio. We tested cerebral tumors of grade 2 to 4 (WHO), metastases and focal-inflammatory lesions. In conclusion the best differentiation between normal and pathologically changed tissue was made with the singlevoxel-method and the CHO/CRE-ratio. For further differentiation of the pathological lesions and for grading of tumors the CHO/NAA- ratio with singlevoxel-spectroscopy is prefered. The use of both methods, singlevoxel- and multivoxel-spectroscopy, continues to be recommended.…
