  • Possible early immunosenescence parameters in children with autism and ADHD were measured in comparison to healthy controls via real-time quantitative PCR. Additionally the expression of t-cell-specific transcriptionfactors were measured via real-time quantitative PCR. A significant lower level of TRECs and a significant higher expression of the th2-cell transcriptionfactor GATA3 was found in children with autism compared to healthy controls. In conclusion, the thymus seems to grow older faster in children with autism.
