- The aim of this study was to examine the pathogenesis of the encephalopathy that is observed during acute kidney injury. We created a cell culture model consisting of a cerebral endothelial cell line (cEND) and a kidney cell line (HK-2). The kidney cells were damaged by an oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) to simulate an acute kidney injury.
