  • In 2013, three hundred years had passed since the foundation of the Real Academia Española (RAE). The celebrations accompanying this anniversary were extended across the year and came to a closure with the publication of the 23rd edition of the Diccionario de la lengua española in 2014. Spanish media followed the above-mentioned festivities with a detailed coverage. This form of representation is put into a broader context by considering the linguistic politics pursued by the RAE and the Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española (ASALE) under the keyword of panhispanism.
