- The correct positioning of central venous catheters (“CVC”) is important in order to prevent catheter-position associated complications such as cardiac arrhythmias and perforation. This retrospective study was conducted to test the hypothesis that ECG-guidance for positioning of CVC in a large pediatric population of neurosurgical patients is not inferior to chest-x-ray confirmation when applied in routine daily practice.
