Entscheidungen von 8- bis 14j{\"a}hrigen Sch{\"u}lern zeigten, daß sich lagebedingte Wahlen als orientiert am Erwartungsmaximum bezeichnen lassen. Die Beziehung zwischen Orientierung am Erwartungsmaximum und den Variablen Alter, Schulzugeh{\"o}rigkeit und Vorerfahrung erwies sich als positiv. Weiterhin konnte die Abh{\"a}ngigkeit der Wahlh{\"a}ufigkeit des Erwartungsmaximums von der Hervorgehobenheit des Erwartungsmaximums nachgewiesen werden. Die G{\"u}ltigkeit des objektiven Erwartungsmaximierungsmodells mußte aber wegen verschiedener Befunde eingeschr{\"a}nkt werden.},

  abstract  = {Ziel der Untersuchung war, erste Informationen {\"u}ber die Verwendungsf{\"a}higkeit einer im amerikanischen Raum entwickelten Auswahlliste zur Messung des Spannungsbogens zu gewinnen. Dazu wurden mit 234 Jugendstrafgefangenen verschiedenen Alters die Verfahren Auswahlliste und Verhaltensprobe zur Erhebung des Spannungsbogens durchgef{\"u}hrt. Außerdem wurden Daten zum hypothetischen Sparverhalten der Vpn erhoben. Durch klassische und probabilistische Itemanalyse ergaben sich verschiedene Skalen aus der Auswahlliste, die alle in keiner Beziehung zum Alter und dem hypothetischen Sparverhalten standen. Verschiedene Nebenbefunde werden im Hinblick auf ihre Konsequenzen f{\"u}r die Verwendungsf{\"a}higkeit der Auswahlliste und auf Erkl{\"a}rungsm{\"a}glichkeiten diskutiert.},

  abstract  = {Die Auswirkung einer Vorerfahrungsbedingung auf das Entscheidungsverhalten von Sch{\"u}lern wurde untersucht. 188 Volksund lernbehinderte Sondersch{\"u}ler im Alter von 8 bis 14 Jahren wurden 15mal vor die Entscheidung gestellt, eine von drei Alternativen zu w{\"a}hlen. Die Wahlalternativen waren "Spiele gegen die Natur" mit den Konsequenzen" reale Gewinnauszahlung" und" Ausbleiben des Gewinns" .Als Lernbedingung dienten Spiele, bei denen das negative Ergebnis in dem realen Verlust eines Geldbetrages bestand. Es zeigten sich ein Anstieg von LageWahlen mit dem Alter und eine f{\"o}rdernde Wirkung der Lernbedingungbei Sondersch{\"u}lern, die 12 Jahre alt oder {\"a}lter waren. Außerdem ließen die Daten die Vermutung zu, daß das Ausmaß der Retardierung lernbehinderter Sondersch{\"u}ler im Entscheidungsverhalten gr{\"o}ßer ist als in einem sprachfreien Intelligenztest.},

Die monoklinen Elementarzellen enthalten vier Formeleinheiten. Die h{\"o}chstsymmetrische Raumgruppe ist C2/m. Als Gitterkonstanten ergeben sich: K\(_2\)Ag\(_4\)S\(_3\): a = 17,36(1) A, b = 4,296(2) A, c = 11,603(5) A, B = 108,32(3t; Rb\(_2\)Ag\(_4\)S\(_3\): 80 = 17,88(1) A, b = 4,331(5) A, c = 11,849(5) A, B = 108,58(3)°.},

  abstract  = {The arrangement of genes of precursor molecules for ribosomal RNA (pre-rRNA) in primary nuclei from two green algae species, Acetabularia mediterranea and A. major, has been analyzed in an electron microscope study. The pattern of transcriptional units in individual strands of nucleolar chromatin was investigated using spread and positively stained preparations. The rDNA pattern is not uniform but differs in different strands. The predominant type of nucleolar chromatin exhibits a high degree of homogeneity in the sequence of matrix units (intercepts covered with fibrilst hat contain the pre-rRNA) and fibril-free spacer intercepts. Substantial differences, however, are observed between the patterns in different strands. In addition, there is evidence in some strands for intraaxial heterogeneity of both spacer and matrix units. The following major types can be distinguished: type la, ca. 2 micrometer long matrix units, extremely short spacer intercepts in A. mediterranea (ca. 1 micrometer long ones in A. major), completely homogeneous distribution; type Ib, as type la but with intercalated, isolated, significantly shorter and/or longer matrix units; type lIa, matrix unit sizes as in type la, but much longer spacer intercepts, high degree of homogeneity; type Ill, largely heterogeneous arrangements of matrix and spacer units of varying sizes. The matrix unit data are compared with the sizes of pre-rRNA as determined by polyacrylamide gelelectrophoresis under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions. The findings are discussed in relation to recent observations in amphibia and insects and with respect to current concepts of the species-specificity of rDNA arrangements.},

  abstract  = {Natural changes in the transcription of rRNA genes were studied in nucleoli from three oogenic stages of the newt Triturus alpestris with electron microscope, autoradiographic, and biochemical techniques. From determinations of the uridine triphosphate pool sizes and [3H]uridine uptake, phosphorylation, and incorporation into 28S and 18S rRNAs in vivo it was estimated that the rate of rRNA synthesis was about 0.01\% in previtellogenic oocytes and 13\% in mature oocytes when compared to midvitellogenesis. Spread preparations of nucleoli showed significant morphological changes in the transcriptional complexes. The total number of lateral fibrils, i.e., ribonucleoproteins containing the nascent rRNA precursor, were drastically decreased in stages of reduced synthetic activity. This indicates that rRNA synthesis is regulated primarily at the level of transcription. The resulting patterns of fibril coverage of the nucleolar chromatin axes revealed a marked heterogeneity. On the same nucleolar axis occurred matrix units that were completely devoid of lateral fibrils, matrix units that were almost fully covered with lateral fibrils, and various forms of matrix units with a range of lateral fibril densities intermediate between the two extremes. Granular particles that were tentatively identified as RNA polymerase molecules were not restricted to the transcription l complexes. They were observed, although less regularly and separated by greater distances, in untranscribed spacer regions as well as in untranscribed gene intercepts. The results show that the pattern of transcriptional control of rRNA genes differs widely in different genes, even in the same genetic unit.},

  abstract  = {The disintegration of the nuclear envelope has been examined in nuclei and nuclear envelopes isolated from amphibian oocytes and rat liver tissue, using different electron microscope techniques (ultrathin sections and negatively or positively stained spread preparations). Various treatments were studied, including disruption by surface tension forces, very low salt concentrations, and non ionic detergents such as Triton X-lOO and Nonidet P-40. The high local stability of the cylinders of nonmembranous pore complex material is emphasized. As progressive disintegration occurred in the membrane regions, a network of fibrils became apparent which interconnects the pore complexes and is distinguished from the pore complexassociated intranuclear fibrils. This network might correspond to an indistinct lamella, about 15 - 20 nm thick, located at the level of the inner nuclear membrane, which is recognized in thin sections to bridge the interpore distances. With all disintegration treatments a somewhat higher susceptibility of the outer nuclear membrane is notable, but a selective removal does not take place. Final stages of disintegration are generally characterized by the absence of identifiable, membrane- like structures. Analysis of detergent-treated nuclei and nuclear membrane fractions shows almost complete absence of lipid components but retention of significant amount of glycoproteins with a typical endomembrane-type carbohydrate pattern. Various alternative interpretations of these observations are discussed. From the present observations and those of Aaronson and Blobel (1,2), we favor the notion that threadlike intrinsic membrane components are stabilized by their attachment to the pore complexes, and perhaps also to peripheral nuclear structures, and constitute a detergent-resistant, interpore skeleton meshwork.},

It is proposed that the pre-rRN A molecules do not represent the primary product of rDNA transcription but rather relatively stable intermediate products that have already been processed during transcription.},

  abstract  = {The ultrastructure of twO kinds of transcription ally active chromatin, the lampbrush chromosome loops and the nucleoli from amphibian oocytes and primary nuclei of the green alga Acetabularia, has been examined after manual isolation and dispersion in low salt media of slightly alkaline pH using various electron microscopic staining techniques (positive staining, metal shadowing, negative staining, preparation on positively charged films, etc.) and compared with the appearance of chromatin from various somatic cells (hen erythrocytes, rat hepatocytes, ClIltured murine sarcoma cells) prepared in parallel. While typical nucleosomes were revealed with all the techniques for chromatin from the latter three cell system, no nucleosomes were identified in either the lampbrush chromosome structures or the nucleolar chromatin. Nucleosomal arrays were absent not only in maximally fibril-covered matrix units but also in fibril-free regions between transcriptional complexes, including the apparent spacer intercepts between different transcriptional units. Moreover, comparisons of the length of the repeating units of rDNA in the transcribed state with those determined in the isolated rDNA and with the lengths of the first stable product of rDNA transcription, the pre-rRNA, demonstrated that the transcribed rDNA was not significantly shortened and/or condensed but rather extended in the transcriptional units. Distinct granules of about nucleosomal size which were sometimes found in apparent spacer regions as well as within matrix units of reduced fibril density were shown not to represent nucleosomes since their number per spacer unit was not inversely correlated with the length of the specific unit and also on the basis of their resistance to treatment with the detergent Sarkosyl NL-30. It is possible to structurally distinguish between transcriptionally active chromatin in which the DNA is extended in a non-nucleosomal form of chromatin and condensed, inactive chromatin within the typical nucleosomal package. The characteristic extended structure of transcriptionally active chromatin is found not only in the transcribed genes but also in non-transcribed regions within or between ("spacer") transcriptional units as well as in transcriptional units that are untranscribed amidst transcribed ones and/or have been inactivated for relatively short time. It is hypothesized that activation of transcription involves a transition from a nucleosomal to an extended chromatin organisation and that this structural transition is not specific for single "activated" genes but may involve larger chromatin regions, including adjacent untranscribed intercepts.},

Die Methode besteht aus einer Kombination der Auswahl zutreffender Selbstbeschreibungen ("Probleme") und der Beantwortung motivationsbezogener Zusatzfragen. Jeder Pb wird so zu seinen spezifischen Problemen hinsichtlich der Auspr{\"a}gung therapierelevanter motivationaler Variablen befragt. Aus der Beantwortung der Zusatzfragen k{\"o}nnen verschiedene Therapiemotivations- Syndrome (TMS) gebildet werden. Die statistische Absicherung des individuellen Vorkommens eines TMS in den Zusatzbefragungen erfolgt {\"u}ber die Multinominalverteilung. Dabei wird von der H{\"a}ufigkeit ausgew{\"a}hlter Probleme eines Pb abstrahiert. Die Erprobung des Verfahrens wurde an 211 Inhaftierten einer Jugendstrafanstalt als potentieller Klienten-Population vorgenommen. Als Kontrollgruppe dienten 207 Berufssch{\"u}ler vergleichbaren Alters. W{\"a}hrend bei den Berufssch{\"u}lern die H{\"a}ufigkeit bei der Klassifikation in verschiedene TMS-Gruppen immer im zuf{\"a}lligen Bereich lagen, konnten bei den Delinquenten {\"u}berzuf{\"a}llig h{\"a}ufig besetzte Gruppenst{\"a}rken gefunden werden. In der Diskussion wurde auf den Unterschied des hier benutzten Klassifikationsverfahrens zur Konfigurations-Frequenzanalyse und zu Maßen Externaler-Internaler-Kontrolle eingegangen. Außerdem wurden Implikationen der Diagnose von Klienten-Therapiemotivation ftir die Entwicklung therapeutischer Verfahren aufgezeigt.},

The cerebellar volume increases in two phases: The first phase lasts from birth to the seventh postnatal week. The second phase begins ten weeks post parturn and lasts for a Ionger period than the first phase. The cerebellar surface increases continuously from birth to the end of the seventh week. The volume of the external granular layer is maximal when the organ grows rapidly. The external granular layer has nearly disappeared 24 days after birth; the volume of the interaal granular layer is maximal at this time. Later on, the volume and the width of the interaal granular layer decrease. Myelinization of the cerebellar fibers and growth of the molecular layer run parallel to this decrease. The second late, but protracted growth of the cerebellum, ten weeks after birth, is due to an increase of the molecular and medullary layer. These findings are in good accord with histological, histochemical, and ultrastructural observations of other authors.},

  abstract  = {The organization of the extrachromosomal nucleolar material in oocytes of two insect species with different ovary types, the house cricket Acheta domesticus (panoistic ovary) and the water beetle Dytiscus marginalis (meroistic ovary), was studied with light and electron microscopic techniques. Stages early in oogenesis were compared with fully vitellogenic stages (mid-to-Iate diplotene). The arrangement of the nucleolar material undergoes a marked change from a densely aggregated to a dispersed state. The latter was characterized by high transcriptional activity. In spread and positively stained preparations of isolated nucleolar material, a high frequency of small circular units of transcribed rDNA was observed and rings with small numbers (1-5) of pre-rRNA genes were predominant. The observations suggest that the "extra DNA body" observed in early oogenic stages of both species represents a dense aggregate of numerous short circular units of nucleolar chromatin, with morphological subcomponents identifiable in ultrathin sections. These apparently remain in close association with the chromosomal nucleolar organizer(s). The observations further indicate that the individual small nucleolar subunit circles dissociate and are dispersed as actively transcribed rDNA units later in diplotene. The results are discussed in relation to principles of the ultrastructural organization of nucleoli in other cell types as well as in relation to possible mechanisms of gene amplification.},

Den Untersuchungen ist gemeinsam, daß als Ypn mindestens 17 Jahre alte Sch{\"u}ler oder Studenten mitwirkten. Auch in der methodisch anders ansetzenden Arbeit von M{\"U}LLERFOHRBRODT und DANN [5J zu diesem Problembereich stammten die Vpn aus der umschriehenen Altcrsgruppe. {\"U}bergeordnetes Ziel dieser Arbeit ist deswegen die Pr{\"u}fung der Durchf{\"u}hrbarkeit einer entscheidungstheoretischen Skalierungsmethode hei Sch{\"u}lern j{\"u}ngeren Alters.},

Nucleolar material from oocytes of animals with normal (2-nu) and mutant (I-nu) genetical constitution of nucleolus organizers was compared. Histograms showing the distributions of the lengths of matrix units, apparent spacer intercepts, and the total repeating units of the rDNA containing chromatin axes revealed a significant degree of heterogeneity, with indications of subclasses and predominant repeat unit size c1asses of 3.3 and 3.8 11m length. The correspondence of matrix unit length to the molecular weight of the first stable product of rDNA transcription was studied using gel electrophoresis of labelIed pre-rRNA under non-denaturing and denaturing conditions. Evaluations of individual strands of nucleolar chromatin furt her demonstrated the existence of both (i) strands with obviously homogeneous repeating units and (ii) strands with intra-axial heterogeneity of rDNA subunits. " Preludecomplexes ", i.e. groups of transcriptional complexes in apparent spacer intercepts, were not infrequently noted. The data are compared with the measurements of lengths of repeating units in fragments of rDNA obtained by digestion with EcoRI endonuclease as described by Morrow et al. (1974) and Wellauer et al. (1974, 1976a, b). The results are discussed in relation to problems of variations in the modes of arrangement of the pre-rRNA genes, the state of packing of rDNA during transcription, and possible mechanisms of the amplification process.},

  abstract  = {Literary imitations of the testament form have a European tradition going back to classical times and constitute a neglected part of English literature. Although examples appear from the 14th century onwards, no thorough study of last wills and testaments as a specific form of English literature has been undertaken. This neglect may be because, within the broad field of the literary idea of 'legacy', parodies of the testament form ('mock testaments') and serious imitations ('lovers' testaments' etc.) appear in nearly every genre as either single texts or parts of larger ones, themselves crossing the genre boundaries. Then too, a large number of literary testaments come under the heading of 'minor literature' , such as shortlived pamphlets and broadsides. Yet the use which major authors like Shakespeare and Donne made of the literary testament shows that it had become an established form in the 16th century. The texts under examination here would normally be referred to as courtly love poems, political pamphlets, jests, cook-books, nursery rhymes, epic poems, autobiographical verse (Chatterton's Will), modern poems (yeats, Auden and McNeice) or as parts of masques, plays or novels. The aim is to show that one can legitimately speak of all these texts as belonging to a single literary category. In addition to adescription of the history of the literary testament in England, the central problem of this study was one of generic form. The attempt has been made to apply recent ideas of genre theory, i.e., the structuralist generative approach, to texts imitating a non-literary or utility document. This non-literary model is narrowly defined by criteria set by the Church and the Law. Thus it becomes possible to proceed as if the model were the generic norm of a corpus of greatly varying literary texts, thereby avoiding the problems of defming and re-defming selective principles (and of the need to assume a hypothetical 'first form') for the gathering of texts. The testament is a private re cord especially weil suited for studies of this kind because of its traditional fixed form and wide popularization from the Middle Ages onwards. In its complexity, the testament allows for more variation of style, content and purpose than does the letter, but is more disciplined in its form. In categorizing the testaments as such, it is necessary to study contemporary connotations and to defme the basic structure of the model. A selection of genuine, nonficticious testaments drawn up by members of the University of Cambridge in the 16th century has been examined for this purpose. (The 16th and 17th centuries can be taken as the most productive of literary testament writing.) There seems to exist a dichotomy in the testament itself; on the one hand there are mundane considerations (bequeathing of property) and on the other thoughts directed towards the life to come. Ihis dichotomy is observable not only on the content level, but also on the formal level and the semantic level. Ihe relation between the two testamentary elements, which is characterized by polarization, can be postulated as the basic structure of the testament and as the genre norm of the literary texts examined here. Taking into account the fact that the testament has been of varying importance in various ages, a wide selection of literary imitations of the testament from Chaucer to Yeats and after is studied in detail. A distinction may be drawn between mock testaments and serious imitations, with the former representing rebellion against the exalted authorities behind the testament. When the theoretical rebellion coincides with the practical function of satire or attack in a particular case, then the mock testament is raised to a true literary form. The serious imitation, on the other hand, makes use of the metaphysical element of the testament, and is directed to a worldly being or to the 'human condition' (as in examples drawn from the modern poets). Its problems and aim assign this study to the wider fjeld of genre research, particularly research into the relationship between genuine documents (utility texts) and their literary imitations.},

Das polychotome Modell erschien angemessen. Es erm{\"o}glichte die Messung von 2 Personenvariablen, Wahrscheinlichkeitsorientierung und Erwartungswertorientierung, durch mehrkategorielle Skalierung des Entscheidungsverhaltens. Weiterhin wird der Zusammenhang zwischen Parametersch{\"a}tzungen und Situationseigenschaften untersucht. Es zeigten sich bei beiden Datens{\"a}tzen hohe Zusammenh{\"a}nge, die die Portfolio-Theorie best{\"a}tigen.},

Die Untersuchungsmethode bestand in der Auswahl zutreffender Selbstbeschreibungen aus "Problem-Items", zu denen anschließend Zusatzfragen hinsichtlich der Auspr{\"a}gung von f{\"u}nf motivationalen Variablen (Leidensdruck, Unzufriedenheit, {\"A}nderungswtinsch, Hilfewunsch und Erfolgserwartung) beantwortet werden mußten. 211 m{\"a}nnliche jugendliche Inhaftierte wurden mit 207 Berufssch{\"u}lern verglichen. Durch konfigurale Klassifikation wurde gepr{\"u}ft, ob sie bestimmten Therapiemotivations-Syndromen (TMS) zugeordnet werden konnten. Es zeigte sich, daß nur zuf{\"a}llig viele Berufssch{\"u}ler, aber signifikant viele Delinquente in folgende TMS-Gruppen klassifiziert werden konnten: Leidensdruck/{\"A}nderungswunsch und Unzufriedenheit Hilfewunsch jeweils mit hoher bzw. geringer Erfolgserwartung. Delinquente mit g{\"u}nstigen motivationalen Voraussetzungen f{\"u}r Psychotherapie (Leidensdruck/{\"A}nderungswunsch) wiesen k{\"u}rzere Inhaftierungszeiten auf als die Unzufriedenheit-/Hilfewunschgruppe. Mit Hilfe des vorgestellten diagnostischen Verfahrens k{\"o}nnen therapeutische Zwischen ziele f{\"u}r behandlungsbed{\"u}rftige Delinquente mit ung{\"u}nstigen motivationalen Voraussetzungen formuliert werden.},

  abstract  = {Die Wirksamkeit des Modellernens im Klassenzimmer zur Ver{\"a}nderung der Pr{\"u}fungsangst wurde bei 152 Knaben und 164 M{\"a}dchen der Klassen 5-8 einer Hauptschule untersucht. Den Sch{\"u}lern wurden die Angst-Skalen (TASe und GASC) von Sarason vorgelegt. Anhand der Fragebogenergebnisse wurden die Kinder den Kategorien "hoch{\"a}ngstlich" (HA), "mittel{\"a}ngstlich" (MA) und "niedrig{\"a}ngstlich" (NA) zugeordnet. F{\"u}r 3,5 Monate wurden die folgenden Paarbildungen (Banknachbarn) beibehalten: HA neben HA, MA und NA, NA neben NA und MA, sowie MA neben MA. Signifikante Verringerungen der Pr{\"u}fungsangst ergaben sich bei hoch{\"a}ngstlichen Sch{\"u}lern, die neben niedrig- bzw. mittel{\"a}ngstlichen Sch{\"u}lern saßen. Modellernen scheint ein praktikabler Weg zu sein, in der Schulsituation gezielt Pr{\"u}fungsangst zu verringern.},
