A Role of Sphingosine in the Intracellular Survival of Neisseria gonorrhoeae

- Obligate human pathogenic Neisseria gonorrhoeae are the second most frequent bacterial cause of sexually transmitted diseases. These bacteria invade different mucosal tissues and occasionally disseminate into the bloodstream.
